All-Level Yoga Class at the Community Center – 9:15 am to 10:15 am

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:15 to 10:15 at the Alpine Community Center. Join us for a  progressive level Yoga class catering to ALL levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced praticioners).

This class is taught by Mary Barkley, who has been teaching this YOGA class for 15 years at the Community Center. The cost is $8 per class for ACC members; $10 per class for non-members. 

 

P.L.A.Y. Donates $1,500 for ALL SIX Alpine Youth Sports – 10:00 am

Tuesday, March 8th at 10:00am. P.L.A.Y. will donate $1,500 to ALL SIX Alpine Youth Sports Leagues at th Alpine Chamber of Commerce.

P.L.A.Y. (Park Land for Alpine Youth) is a non-profit corporation founded in Alpine to assist our youth with their sports activities and facilities.

Due to the generous donations of residents through our contribution boxes located at Albertsons, True Value Hardware, California Bank & Trust and Alpine Tobacco, we are able to donate $1500.00 this year to all six of our youth leagues here in Alpine. Donations of $250.00 each will go to Alpine American Little League, AYSO, Alpine Eagles Lacrosse, Alpine Girls Softball, Alpine Mountaineers and Alpine Pony League.

The presentation will take place at the Alpine Chamber of Commerce this Tuesday, March 8th at 10:00am. Representatives of each league as well as all Alpine citizens are urged to attend.

Matt’s Sit-N-Fit Class – 11 am to 12 pm

Every Tuesday from 11am to 12pm at the Alpine Community Center. Matt Kraemer, owner of Alpine Physical Therapy & Wellness Center in Alpine, donates one hour per week to teach this FREE class. Wednesday, March  9, 10:30 a.m. – Come to the Alpine Branch of the San Diego County Library and meet Marco from EDCO Waste & Recycling services. He will read stories and talk about where trash goes and how everyone can all recycle. Preschoolers welcome!  SPECIAL: ONE DAY – STORY-TIME ONLY 10:30-11:00: Save a trip: Bring your old batteries and Marco will take them to EDCO for recycling! Preschool Story-time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. a the Alpine Library! Back Country Boot Camp LOW IMPACT/BEGINNER classes are from 5:30 – 6:15 AM on TUES & THURS.  All of our classes are held at the Alpine Community Center Park. Alpine Pop Warner Football and Cheer Registration for the 2011 Season

10 am to 3 pm

Registration for Alpine Pop Warner Football and Cheer is scheduled to start for the 2011 season.  All home games are played at Granite Hills High School and practices are held at the Viejas recreation center.There will be three dates for registration this year:

  • Saturday March 12, 2011 at Shadow Hills Elementary School from 10am to 3pm.
  • Thursday April 7 at Alpine Elementary School from 5pm to 8pm.
  • Final registration will take place on Saturday April 9 at Alpine Elementary School from 9am to 3pm.
     

Alpine Pop Warner has reduced registration fees this year for both football and cheer.  Discounts are available for signing up on the first registration day as well as for multiple players from one family.  For more information on what is needed for registration please visit the website at http://www.alpinefootball.com

The “Quiz Kids” Radio Show! You Child Could be Included! – 1 to 2 pm

Every Sunday, from 1pm to 2pm, the Quiz Kids Radio Program will Air on KCBQ. The Quiz Kids show features kids in either 6th, 7th, 8th or New this year, 9th grades as they compete against one another and at times, school against school by answering grade appropriate academic questions.  No one goes home without a smile and some great gifts, tee shirts and more.
