One of the wonderful services that the Alpine Community Network provides is the posting of LOST & FOUND PETS. It is VERY GRATIFYING to know that we can assist this community to help each other find our BELOVED PETS.
HOWEVER…….all too often, when we receive a “Missing Pet Alert”, the animal DOES NOT have any identification tags. This, of course, makes reuniting the pet with it’s owner an even more challenging task. Pets that do not have ID Tags, yet are Micro-Chipped are usually QUICKLY reunited with their families, because one of the very first things that someone who finds a lost pet will do is take them to a local vet to check for a micro-chip.
It is SO EASY to get your pet Micro-Chipped. Most ALL vets provide this service and there are also many events / programs available where you can take your pet to be micro-chipped as well, including the event below on Sunday, June 12.
If you own a Dog or Cat and they are not micro-chipped, please consider doing so, for your pets safety and to avoid heartbreak for your family if your pets ends up missing. ID Tags are great, but there are times when a collar or tags come off, but the micro-chip will ALWAYS be there to give you and your family peace of mind and your pet the best chance of coming home.
