SUNRISE POWERLINK CONSTRUCTION SUMMARY: August 24, 2011
- Construction activity on Alpine Boulevard continues on four tracks: setting of vaults, digging the trench for the underground cable, installing cable and preparing for the jack and bore process. Construction activities for the County of San Diego’s Streetscape Improvement Plan and 20A utility undergrounding effort are continuing.
- As of August 24, SDG&E has completed the installation of 38 vaults, out of a total of 40 vaults to be set during the project. All vaults located on Alpine Boulevard have now been set. The remaining two vaults are on private property.
- Outlook for week of August 22-27: Excavating west of Star Valley Road, west of South Grade Road, east and west of West Victoria and west of Tavern Road, Monday-Friday. Installing cable east and west of Tavern Road, Monday-Friday. Working on San Diego County’s streetscape improvements in front of the elementary school and community center, Monday-Friday. Working on the 20A utility undergrounding effort at East Victoria Drive, Monday-Friday.
- Outlook for week of August 29 – September 3: Excavating west of Star Valley Road, west of South Grade Road, east and west of West Victoria and west of Tavern Road, Monday-Friday. Installing cable east and west of Tavern Road, Monday-Friday. Working on San Diego County’s streetscape improvements in front of the elementary school and community center, Monday-Friday. - All construction activities listed above are taking place along Alpine Boulevard. Cross streets are provided as a reference only. Most construction is taking place from 7 AM to 5 PM; except west of Tavern Road, east of South Grade Road and at the jack and bore location near Alpine Creek, where construction is taking place from 7 AM to 7 PM. These hours have been approved by San Diego County.
