 We are a COOL ZONE so come in and browse in comfort. Back to School? Look for the classic literature and math textbooks you might need.  Mario Vargas Llosa the 2010 Nobel Prize winner in Literature says that learning to read at the age of 5 is the most important thing that ever happened to him; and he praises literature for teaching one how the world works.  LITERATURE?  We have tons!  Paperback mysteries 1/2 price all of September.  We are featuring SPORTS books in September as well.  We have received great books on  History; Politics both left and right; and more Western Literature.

All-Level Yoga Class at the Community Center – 9:15 am to 10:15 am

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:15 to 10:15 at the Alpine Community Center. Join us for a  progressive level Yoga class catering to ALL levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced praticioners). This class is taught by Mary Barkley, who has been teaching this YOGA class for 15 years at the Community Center. The cost is $8 per class for ACC members; $10 per class for non-members.      

Matt’s Sit-N-Fit Class – 11 am to 12 pm

Every Tuesday from 11am to 12pm at the Alpine Community Center. Matt Kraemer, owner of Alpine Physical Therapy & Wellness Center in Alpine, donates one hour per week to teach this FREE class. He helps seniors get a little exercise while sitting in a chair with the aide of rubber exercise bands and music! For more information contact the Alpine Community Center at 619-445-7330

Come play Bridge at the Alpine Community Center! We play  every Thursday from 12:00 to 3:30pm. We need more players! There are 8-12 of us that play on a regular basis at the Community Center in what ever room is vacant at the time. It costs a whopping $1 and we sure could use some new players! Every Thursday from 3-5 p.m. Tweens & Teens  (ages 10-18) are invited to enjoy our variety of Wii games after school at the Alpine Library. Come and play in the Library with our Wii games. We set up the TV and controllers, you have fun and play. Choose from the following games: Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Sports, Carnival, Crash of the Titans, Wii Play, Mario Kart, and High School Musical. Every Sunday, from 1pm to 2pm, the Quiz Kids Radio Program will Air on KCBQ. The Quiz Kids show features kids in either 6th, 7th, 8th or New this year, 9th grades as they compete against one another and at times, school against school by answering grade appropriate academic questions.  No one goes home without a smile and some great gifts, tee shirts and more.

Alpine Community Blood Drive – September 10, 2011   It’s time again to make your appointment for this quarter’s Alpine Community Blood Drive sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Alpine on September 10, 2011 from 8am to 1pm.  We are getting requests to help local families with blood donations and we could use your help.  Every time you donate blood at our Alpine Drive we collect “pints” that we can then donate to a family so that they aren’t charged for the blood that they use in the hospital. Alpine Education Foundation’s 2nd Annual Fall Festival – October 23, 2011

Please join us on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for our  2nd Annual Fall Festival at Summers Past Farm, located at 15602 Olde Highway 80, El Cajon. Ralph’s Mobile Food Pantry Visits Alpine at the 1st Baptist Church on October 25 from 10am to 11:00am (Tavern Rd. & Arnold Way)  The Ralph’s Mobile Pantry Program will be coming to Alpine every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month. No income verification is required.
