Westcore Properties, owner and property manager of the Alpine Creek Town Center, has announced that Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market will join the center’s quality tenants in the previous Daniel’s Market space. Fresh & Easy signed a 10-year lease for 22,015 square feet of retail space at the center at 1347 Tavern Rd. The financial terms weren’t disclosed.
“We’re excited to have Fresh & Easy on board,” said Hack Adams, senior vice president of leasing for Westcore Properties. “Fresh & Easy will become a staple for the Alpine community as residents seek wholesome, healthy food for their families.” Hack said the company’s commitment to providing good food at a cost savings, while also giving back to each community it serves, was important to Westcore Properties “as we continue to look for ways to support Alpine with a well-rounded tenant mix.”
Fresh & Easy offers a wide range of its own brand of products including freshly prepared meals with no artificial colors, flavors, high-fructose corn syrup and no added transfats. The company’s stores are designed with energy efficiency to pass along cost benefits to customers. According to Adams, Fresh & Easy plans to open in August 2012 with space improvements starting in mid-February.
As a community champion, Fresh & Easy pledges $1,000 to a neighborhood charitable group with each new store opening. Alpine residents can nominate local groups now by visiting www.freshandeasy.com/nominategroup.aspx. The company operates stores in California, Arizona and Nevada.
Don Moser with Retail Insite represented Fresh & Easy during lease negotiation. John Jennings and Aaron Hill with Cushman & Wakefield represented Westcore Properties, a member of the Alpine Mountain Empire Chamber of Commerce. Westcore Properties acquired Alpine Creek Town Center in 2004 and completely renovated and redesigned it through a five-year effort. Additional tenants include Vita Luna Boutique, Studio B Salon, West Coast Rideshop, Ace Hardware, CVS Pharmacy, Ahi Sushi, La Carreta, Mediterraneo, the soon-to-open Paparazzi’s Restaurant and much more. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse! A Wal Mart!
Time to move
Keith, where did you hear this? I am curious because i am CONVICED that the Fresh & Easy will NOT be opening and I have heard that the other merchants in the Alpine Creek Town Center were told that F & E was STILL GOING TO OPEN, but not until March of 2013. That just sounds far fetched to me, but then again, I do not have ANY Absolute facts on any of this as of yet, so who knows? I had NEVER EVEN HEARD of such a think as a “Mini Wal-mart grocery store”, so I googled it and you are right! check this out: http://www.dailyfinance.com/2010/04/28/mini-wal-mart-coming-to-a-city-near-you/
Fron what I heard today fresh and easy are not opening. Apparently the latest is a mini Walmart grocery store may take the space.
Is Fresh and Easy ever going to open in Alpine? It was due to open “Summer 2012″ … It’s still hot here in Alpine, but summer has past. When is opening? There has been no activity inside that store for months and months. What happened?
I was told that F&E was having a problem with the the contractor and want to pull out of Alpine?
The person who told me that was not very clear as to what was going on.
I do know Albertson stock is in the tank.
Thanks
Hi Howard – As far as i know they are both rumors?
What is the rumor about F&E not coming to Alpine and Albertson is for sale?
Does anyone know how to apply for Fresh n Easy in Alpine i’ve been looking for a website application or something comment A.S.A.P please and thank you.
Great news, now all we need is a Trader Joe’s & Sprout’s too.
Fresh and Easy in Alpine, It’s about time! I’ve been shopping at Daniel’s since I was 12 years old, same unfriendly sales staff, same crappy produce and smelly store. Don’t even get me started on the prices, just like everything else in Alpine overpriced…I was excited when Alberston’s came until I stared getting almost $200.00 grocery bills. I’ve been shopping at fresh and easy for almost a year and it is in every way fresh and easy! The workers are friendly and helpful, the food is priced great! You will still need to pop into to vons or albertsons for certain items every now and then but their inventory grows everyday. They have wonderful fresh wholesome products to feed your family. If you eat mostly packaged processed foods then “Fresh” and Easy isn’t for you, otherwise, speaking from one of the pickiest people around, give it chance, it’s wonderful. If you havn’t been into the one in El Cajon in while, stop in and check it out, they’ve made some great changes!
Drew
I can only go by what Daniel’s said to the press.
Call the Alpine Sun for the story.
Same goes for the NAPA auto parts store.
I don’t know about the other two business.
That would be the wine store/bar and nursery
I do have a friend who is not doing well with her business on Alpine Blvd.
Her numbers are way down from last year.
Prepackaged produce? Sorry … I want to select my own.
After Albertson’s came, I felt a Sprouts, or Trader Joes, would fit in great there,(At Daniels) but hey.. Fresh&Easy is Ok too. They have some great easy meal packages, and I see The fireman in ElCajon
going to the one on 2nd St.So It worth giving it a try. I have personally bought some meat there and it was great. Let’s all try to help all business that are local.
Sprouts and Trader Joes are full of granola eating liberal idiots. Please explain how SDGE shut down Daniels? That makes no sense??
Its called business.
You vote with your feet.
Who’s idea was Fresh n Easy??? Dumb idea!! Listen to people of Alpine better. A Sprouts or Trader Joe’s is what we want!! We already have a big grocery store. Boooooooo on Fresh n Easy in Alpine!!!!!!!
Lets see you don’t want Albertson in Alpine who is number 26Th in size worldwide.
But you are all excited about Fresh & Easy coming to Alpine who is number three in size worldwide.
So much for the local home-town feel.
Some folks need to take a economics class.
Its all about who can survive.
The South West Power Link “SDG&E” knocked out Daniels and three other business.
Thank you APG.
Boo! Bring Daniel’s home and send Albertson’s packing for crying out loud! I want my home-town feel back!
I doubt I will go there often .
