Unknown Suspect Sought for Animal Cruelty

Up to $3,000 Reward Offered

San Diego County Crime Stoppers, San Diego Animal Advocates and investigators from the San Diego County Animal Services are asking for assistance from the public to identify an unknown suspect wanted for animal cruelty. 

Investigators said on the morning of February 20, 2012, an adult male cream-colored retriever-mix dog was discovered lying on the side of Viejas Grade Road in Alpine near the Viejas Tribal Education Center. The dog had been shot through the chest and is currently in serious condition at a veterinary emergency hospital. Investigators are seeking any information regarding who shot the dog and continue to look for leads in this case.  Currently, investigators have no suspect information.

 

Anyone with information on the identity and or location of the persons responsible for this crime should call San Diego County Animal Services at 619-236-2341 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. San Diego Animal Advocates is offering an additional reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.   Anonymous email and text messages can be sent in via www.sdcrimestoppers.com.

 

For information leading to an arrest, you could receive up to a $3,000 reward and remain anonymous.  The qualification of any person(s) for the reward and the amount of the reward for any person(s) so qualifying will be determined by San Diego County Crime Stoppers, Inc, and the San Diego Animal Advocates.  The amount of all rewards given shall not exceed $1,000 from San Diego County Crime Stoppers and $2,000 from San Diego Animal Advocates.
