UPDATE 6-19-12 11:15am: The OLD FIRE has blackened more than 900 acres, destroyed a home and threatened hundreds of others in the Campo area is expected to be fully contained Tuesday, with full control to follow Wednesday night, according to Cal Fire.

“Old Fire” Update: 12:56pm
As of 12 noon, CALFIRE says the Old Fire has burned 907 acres. Sheriff’s ASTREA is now helping with the ” Old Fire” in the Campo area. The fire/rescue helicopter left Gillespie Field just before 12 noon to make water drops. The Bell 205 chopper is equipped with a 375 gallon belly tank. If wind conditions allow, ASTREA will continue to help other CALFIRE aircrafts until dark. To learn more about ASTREA and see photos of helicopters visit http://bit.ly/Ls3Flr. Nearly 50 deputies are also on scene to assist firefighters. A home and an outbuilding were destroyed. There’s a minor injury to a firefighter.

10News is saying that Live Oak Springs Mobile Home Park and the Community of Boulevard need to be READY TO EVACUATE as the wind are expected to change… The Sunrise Powerlink, which has only been in operation less than 24 hours, is now being threatened by flames.

School is closed for Clover Flat & Jacumba Elementary School. No buses allowed East of Church Rd. Eastbound Hwy 94 is closed at Church Rd and Old Hwy 80 is closed at Crestwood & Sierra Del Sol
