Help! Mama TURKEY can’t find her babies!
She cant find her babies.she has three turkey chicks about 2 1/2 months old.they have feathers but are still a bit fuzzy on top of their heads,they can fly a bit,a few feet anyway,I have not seen them since before fireworks on Wednesday ,mama turkey has been walking around all day calling for them (very sad). If anyone has seen them please let me know she would really like to have them back. home is on Big Wagon rd/south grade /tavern rd.
This picture of mama and her babies,is about a month old .The chicks are a bit bigger now ,about 10inches tall,but still looked the same.

awe darn… I was really hoping a miracle would happen and the chicks would be found!
Thank you so much for everyone’s concern about mama turkey’s chicks.unfortunately ,they never found their way back to mama.one community member had found the (feathers/evidence) of a possible coyote dinner behind her home ,quite close to our house too.(sad….)the coyotes have been a HUGE problem around here this year.Mama turkeys REAL home is next door to us,this season I estimate they lost about 25birds including 1rooster/15-20 chickens, a large grey pilgrim goose,2 Male turkeys about 20lbs each,and a female turkey (which was Mama turkey’s baby from last year).Mama not only made it through that terrible two weeks but managed to hide in a ground nest and hatch 8eggs.The three missing chicks were the last of her family.I had thought that they would make it,since they were about 3months old.but on the 4th of July the fireworks this year were so LOUD.They got spooked and flew! Only Mama came back 2 days later.she had a missing toe and a gash on her back,healed now.(bad signs)…But…
She has adopted our two young hens as her family now.we got them the same time her chicks were born so they often were ALL together outside.

Have the chicks reappeared? Hopefully they were just hiding and heard their mama so they could be reunited!
