An Alpine Community Network member sent me an email asking about the metal plate that is on the road on Alpine Blvd. Maybe someone can help us figure out WHO to contact in regards to this?
Here is her question:
“There is a metal plate on Arnold Way in front of the Alpine Oaks Condos (next to the post office) that has been there for a few weeks that is now causing unbearable clanking, banging noise especially in the quite hours of the night. Do you have a way of finding out when this plate might be removed? I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in forever!” – Amy

Okay everyone, here’s the COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO contact person to call regarding the re-paving of Alpine Blvd. We submitted a complaint on their website and he called us back. The more people that contact him to voice their concerns over the TERRIBLE condition of Alpine Blvd, the better. His name is Roberto (no last name given) and his direct phone number is 619-445-2314. PLEASE call him and voice your concerns. SDG&E’s part of the work is over with, it’s the County’s turn to fix and pave the roads. They messed up with the planning of the storm drains so now they have to tear everything up again. This is a COUNTY issue so call them with your concerns!!! Maybe if enough of us call, something will be done!
Hopefully they can repave the section in front of Freds. Early in the morning wgen the sun is rising the glare on the road shows all of the old lane markings, making it very confusing to know where to drive headed Eastbound. I thought they were leaving the road in better condition than when they started? What’s their estimated date of completion? Does anyone know?
Well, it will be a while before we get Alpine Blvd back to normal again! I was told that they still have to finish the storm drains and finish some of the improvements that they couldn’t finish before due to environmental reasons, THEN they will resurface the road… in a nutshell, they aren’t done tearing Alpine up yet
I will send this post to Michael Long at SD County offices. He may know who to contact at the county for repair.
Is there a repave ever in our future? It’s like driving a scrub board !

They did a real crappy job
And what about those three huge bumps heading West in front of the liquor store? Are those permanent? If so, POOR PLANNING!
Better question. When is SDG&E going to fix Alpine Blvd? It is ridiculous how bumpy it is, the lines are a mix matched mess and the job does not look finished.
