CAL FIRE will be continuing the Vegetation Management Program (VMP) burn south of Pine Valley which began on Wednesday March 15, 2017. The burn will be conducted in order to clear an additional 85 acres in the area of the Corte Madera Ranch. The Monday March 20, 2017 burn is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:00 A.M. and is expected to continue into the afternoon. Smoke is expected to be visible in the immediate area as well as along the Interstate 8 corridor. CAL FIRE will be assisted on Monday’s burn by members from the Border Agency Fire Council (BAFC), an organization made up of 29 American and Mexican governmental agencies and organizations that represent fire protection and law enforcement officials, emergency responders, natural resource managers, elected officials and consular representatives from the binational area.

Establish and maintain relationships with U.S. and Mexican government agencies.
Strengthen awareness and cooperation on preserving biodiversity.
Continue effective fire prevention, suppression and emergency response.
