DOG HOUSE & BLANKET Donation Drive for DOGS in NEED in Our Back Country – November 2018

dog-in-doghouse-donation-driveLast year over 23 dog houses were donated and distributed to dogs in need in our local mountains!

It’s that time again…cold and snowy in Boulevard, 30 miles east of Alpine in the mountains.  There are still many dogs that need dog houses and blankets to help them keep comfortable during these storms and even in the summer, to protect them from the heat.  If you have a dog house or blankets to donate, I will come and pick them up from you and distribute them as needed up here.  This is the 6th year I’ve done this.  You are helping so many dogs with your generous donations of houses and blankets.

Please call or text me at: (619) 964-1181 or e-mail me at  Thank you for your compassion for the animals. –Pam Lawless

“Lee Lee”

“Lee Lee” is a handsome, 1-1/2  year old neutered male Terrier mix.  Lee was rescued off the streets of Tijuana.  Because of his sweet temperament, a rescue group in Tijuana saved his life.  He is the sweetest, inquisitive and ready for fun pup you will ever find.  He is calm, playful and loving.  He gets along well with other dogs and people and wants to learn.  Lee would be great with a family or an individual who is active. He has been learning ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘shake’, is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door.  He is not destructive when left alone.  He has been neutered, wormed and is up-to-date with his Distemper/Parvo and Rabies shots. Medical records will be provided.   Lee weighs 48 lbs. A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for him and his new adopter. An application for adoption will be requested.   Lee’s rehoming fee is $150.  You can call or text me at 619-964-1181.

As always, thank you for considering adopting a dog who needs a home, rather than buying one from a breeder (and never buy from anyone who would be willing to ship a dog to you without first meeting you and you, them). Pam Lawless

Barn + Mice = CAT

Since 2015, Love Your Feral Friends has been been placing at risk felines in Barn Cat Programs. We are dedicated to saving the lives of fear cats who are impounded at animal control facilities and, for one reason or another, cannot be returned to their original habitats. These cats are healthy, sterilized, vaccinated, and in dire need of a new outdoor home, such as a barn, stable, garage, or warehouse.

These cats are typically not suitable to be indoor pets and have no desire to be lap cats. These are working cats, former street cats who are used to outdoor life, prefer minimal to no human contact, and who will happily tend to your mouse, mole, chipmunk, or vermin problems for the small cost of a bowl of cat food and water set out daily, and shelter in our garage or barn. And because we spay/neuter and vaccinate these cats prior to them coming to your farm, you never need to worry about endless litters of kittens!

We also have “Social kitties” available for adoption HERE (These cats and kittens are NOT available for adoption through our Barn Cat Program. They have been worked with by our wonderful foster volunteers and are ready for their fur-ever homes. They are looking for indoor only homes.)

For more information on how the barn cat program works, feel free to contact us at 760-542-8509 or email us at

It’s the Pits Dog Rescue

It’s The Pits is a 501c3 canine rescue that coordinates the fostering and adoption of dogs that haven’t yet found their permanent home. We specialize in American Staffordshire Terriers (“Am Staffs”), Staffordshire Bull Terriers (“Staffy’s”), and American Pit Bull Terriers, but will do our best to help all breeds, often by referral to other local rescues that specialize in that type of dog. We work alongside our fosters to give the dogs a temporary and loving home before they are placed into permanent homes. We rescue dogs from various shelters, evaluate them, ensure they are healthy, and then match them with the appropriate family. We take pride in matching the best dog for the individual family that contacts us. We do this by matching the activity level of the dog to the family’s needs, as well as making sure that the other pets in the home work well with the new addition to the pack. All of this is important in finding the forever home for our rescued pets.

chihuahua-rescue-of-san-diegoChihuahua Rescue of San Diego

We are a rescue consisting of an all volunteer organization where all of our dogs are in private homes everyday. We do not have a shelter and our dogs are not kept in cages. Our dogs are from county animals shelters or from previous owners that are no longer able to care for their dog. All of our dogs are started on housebreaking, however, we do not guarantee that they will be housebroken. We offer education on how to housebreak a dog as well as other information on different situations. Every dog is spayed or neutered, current on shots, dewormed, frontline for fleas and ticks. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!!!
