Alpine Library Calendar of Free Events – JULY 2019

Library events LogoIf you haven’t signed up for the Summer Learning Challenge yet, it’s time to get on it! How? Pick up a Summer Learning log at the library’s front desk, then read 10 books or do 10 library activities before August 31. You’ll win a book or tote bag and also be eligible for grand prizes from the County Library and the Alpine Library Friends Association.

This summer we arecollecting toys for Care & Share, an organization who brings toys to kids who are in the hospital or have health problems. If you have any new or gently used stuffed animals to share, drop them off anytime in our lobby collection bin.

While you’re in the lobby, you may also notice that we now have a battery collection bin! We are partnering with the Department of Environmental Health to serve as a drop off location for old batteries.

We are wrapping up our Rural Arts Project series this month, with printmaking classes! The kids’ class is Wednesday July 17 at 3 pm, and the adults’ class is Saturday July 20 at 2 pm. But if you still want to continue your artistic pursuits, our watercolor class is ongoing, 2nd and 4th Fridays at 10:30 am.  All supplies are provided!

Friday June 29 at 6:30 pm is the first of our Summer Concerts in the Park series, featuring the US Navy 32nd Street Brass Band! See the attached flyer for the rest of the concerts, every other Friday all summer long.
