Alpine Library Calendar of Free Events – August 2019

Library events LogoHello and happy August! This is our newest calendar of FREE EVENTS at the Library!

As the weather turns warmer, don’t forget that all the County libraries are official Cool Zones.  Feel free to just come and hang out all day! As summer winds down and school starts, we will be taking a short break from our regular kids’ programs, to give our awesome youth services staff some much-needed vacation and planning time. So, from August 19 through September 2, we will not have our usual morning storytimes. However, if you need that reading fix, Ruff Readers will still be here on August 27!

Storytimes and after-school programs will start back up on September 3, with a few changes:

  • Preschool Play will move to Thursday mornings.
  • Toddler Storytime will move to Tuesday mornings.
  • STEAM Power Hour will move from Wednesday to Friday afternoon.
  • Ruff Readers will now be every Tuesday. Welcome to our new dog friend, Lil’ Buddy!

To welcome back our teens and tweens, we’ll be having an End-of-Vacay Get-Together on Thursday the 22nd at 3 pm. Spell out your state of mind with an easy craft, and enjoy free food while you catch up with friends. For middle and high schoolers, no registration required.

Check out our full list of free events for ALL AGES here: August 2019 Calendar – Alpine Library

Everyone is invited to join us outside on the lawn for the Summer Concerts in the Park, every other Friday at 6:30. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a musical evening at the Alpine Community Center Park behind the library. Food will be available for purchase from local vendors.

Friday, August 9 at 6:30 pm: The Wildside Band (party music)

Friday, August 23 at 6:30 pm:  Classic Buzz (classic rock)
