ALFA Awards Alpine Fourth Grader with Achievement Award – January 30, 2013

ALFA Presents Jacob Saflar with Achelvement Award 2013 Alpine ca 91901

On Wednesday, January 30th the Alpine Library Friends Association presented Fourth Grader Jacob Saflar with a $50 check and a Certificate honoring him for achieving the Second Place in the San Diego County Library Friends Essay Competition. Jacob competed in the Children’s division.

This year the topic was “What’s next for the San Diego County Library of the Year” acknowledging the national award received by SD County Library.  Jacob spoke in his essay of how he used the Alpine library frequently and how he would like to see more comfy seating areas where patron can read and study, more access to on line books, and Nooks and Kindles that can be checked out. He also had ideas for some new Apps that would make ordering and receiving books easier.

The conceptual design for the New Alpine Library will offer all these facilities when it is built in the near future.
