ALERT!! Concrete Blocks on the I-8 Freeway Near Dunbar Lane AGAIN

Shared from El Cajon CHP June 10,2018

Alpine, Calif. – Since the beginning of 2018 to February 7th there had been four reports of landscaping retaining wall blocks lying within the traffic lanes of I-8 westbound, east of Dunbar Lane. This led to several traffic collisions causing moderate to major damage to the vehicles involved. The CHP responded to these incidents on various nights of the week from the hours of 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Each time, large landscaping retaining wall blocks were located in the traffic lanes. On February 7 the CHP issued a Press Release requesting the public’s help in locating the person or persons responsible. From that point the issued had ceased. (See original article on the ACN)

On June 9 at approximately 12:26 AM, the CHP El Cajon area received a call of several vehicles on I-8 westbound, east of Dunbar Lane, which had hit a concrete object in the roadway causing damage to their vehicles. When units arrived on scene, 8-10 vehicles were determined to have sustained disabling damage consisting of bent wheels and flat tires due to hitting a concrete parking stop that had been placed in the roadway. Four concrete parking stops (weighing approximately 60 lbs.) and three cinder blocks were located on the shoulder.

Patrol has been increased in the area however; there is no suspect information at this time. Anyone who may have seen a vehicle, persons or anything suspicious near the location is urged to contact the CHP El Cajon area at (619) 401-2000.

If you have questions or need further information, please contact Officer Travis Garrow at (619) 401-2000.

Authorities Release Sketch of Man Who Attacked Alpine Woman in June 2017

8-16-17 San Diego County Sheriff’s Department – Do you recognize the man in this sketch? He is wanted on suspicion of attacking a woman in Alpine. Someone out there knows this person.

(Read original story here: http://www.alpinecommunitynetwork.com/2017/06/crime-alert-woman-attacked-while-walking-on-harbison-canyon-rd-6-19-17/)

Authorities Wednesday released an artist’s rendering of a man who attacked a 63-year-old pedestrian without provocation in Alpine two months ago, leaving her with a broken nose and numerous cuts, scrapes and bruises.

The victim was walking alongside Harbison Canyon Road near Hunter Pass on the evening of June 20 when the unidentified assailant, who appeared to be 20 to 30 years old, jumped her from behind and pushed her into a fence, according to sheriff’s officials.

The woman fought back and ran off, but the man caught up to her a short distance away and knocked her to the ground. She then kicked him, broke free and managed to escape.

The victim, whose name was withheld, described the assailant as a roughly 5-foot-10-inch white man with wavy short hair. He may have driven away from the area in a small light-colored pickup truck.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
