“HOPPY TRAILS”: Guided Hike in Wright’s Field w/ Alpine Beer Company & Back Country Land Trust – April 20, 2019

Saturday, April 20, 2019 – “Hoppy Trails” w/ Alpine Beer Company
10am-12pm Guided Hike: Native Plants and Wildflowers (Ticketed Event) Join Alpine Beer Company and the Back Country Land Trust for a guided walking tour of Wright’s Field followed by a tasty brew back at the Alpine Beer Company Tasting Room or The Pub! Late spring is the perfect time to see our native plants and wildflowers. Hike leader/botanist Scott McMillan will help you identify native plants and trees, and we will visit the endangered Thornmint restoration area. Proceeds from the hike will directly benefit our local non-profit Back Country Land Trust.

Don’t Miss This Year’s Vintage Alpine Wine & Food Tasting Event on May 5, 2019! Get Your Tickets Now!

The Alpine Kiwanis Club invites the public to attend the 29th Annual Vintage Alpine fundraiser to be held from 1 – 4 pm, on May 5 by the nonprofit Kiwanis Club of Alpine Foundation, Inc. This amazing “Wine & Food Experience in the Country” will take place within the lovely gardens of Summers Past Farms at 15602 Olde Highway 80.

The event includes live music in a garden setting, a silent auction, and opportunities to meet wine and food specialists.

Attendees will be sampling premium wines from California and around the world, and will also taste the best that restaurants offer throughout San Diego County. Relaxing live music and a silent auction are also featured at the event. “Vintage Alpine attendees often get to chat with people they haven’t seen in years,” said Club President, Bob Soto. “It’s a very good time, and a good way to raise money for community needs.”

50 Years and Still Serving Our Community – Miss Alpine Pageant: Alpine Historical Society Special Program – April 14, 2019

The Alpine Historical Society salutes the Miss Alpine pageant with a special program and potluck on Sunday, April 14th at 1:00 pm at the Alpine Woman’s Club, 2156 Alpine Blvd.

Miss Alpine 1971, Celeste Irvine Damon, will be the guest speaker along with current Director, Kathy Foster. Stories will be told of these young women’s participation in the pageant program and thousands of volunteer hours in the community. During the years, new titles were added to the program with many advancing to the State level, including a Miss California, USA.

All are welcome.  Please bring a potluck item to share for the luncheon at 1:00 p.m. or arrive at 1:45 p.m. for the brief general membership meeting, immediately followed by the speaker at 2:00 p. m.
