Screen Your Teen – FREE HEART SCREENING FOR YOUTH in Alpine – June 30, 2019

The EPSaveALife Foundation is offering a FREE, all-community youth heart screening in Alpine at the Southern Indian Health Council building on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 9am to 1pm.  It is our heart’s desire to screen all community youth ages 12-25 and we sure appreciate your help to inform Alpine and surrounding areas. The screening will be at the Southern Indian Health Council, Administration Building 2nd Floor located at 4058 Willows Road, Alpine, Ca. 91901. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in youth under 25 and the #1 killer of student-athletes, but heart screenings are not part of regular youth exams; We lose at least 12 youth each year in San Diego alone. The Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation has provided over 30,000 free heart screenings for youth age 12 to 25, finding 1 in 300 at risk from an undetected abnormality or risk factor. This syndrome can happen without symptoms or warning signs. You may register at epsavealife.org/register (Walk-ins welcome!) For more info please contact Joanie Moes, Program Manager at 619-318-0006 or email Joanie@epsavealife.org
