HARLEY

“Harley” is a handsome, sweet 7 month old Chocolate Lab mix.  He is very inquisitive and ready for fun.  His favorite time is spent cuddling. He is calm, playful and loving.  He gets along well with other dogs, people and children.  He is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door.  He would be great with a family or an individual who is active.   He wants to learn and rides in the car great.  “Harley” weighs about 45 lbs, but will probably get up to about 70 lbs. He has been neutered, wormed and is up-to-date with his Distemper/Parvo and Rabies shots. A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for him and his new adopter. An application for adoption will be requested. “Harley’s” rehoming fee is $200.  Medical records will be provided. If interested, please call or text Pam Lawless (Foster Mom) at: (619) 964-1181 or e-mail at Pam.Lawless@GCCCD.edu.

LouLou

Lou is a 10 yr old lab/mastiff looking for a new, loving home due to a family situation. He is up to date with all shots, trained, kid friendly (as long as they realize he’s 10 and not a horse 😉 ), loves to cuddle, run, and play! He’s currently in Seattle, but we work for the airlines, so they will bring him to his new home. He may be okay with cars – he lives with one now, but that’s the only one he’s ever known. He’s never tried to harm the cat, they leave each other alone. Lou is extremely friendly and lovable! His health is good and has had no problems that we are aware of. We absolutely adore him and are devastated to have to find a new home for him – Please only inquire if you serious and will take absolute wonderful care of him! If interested, please contact Frederick Brodie at (808) 554-4533.

Odds

Odds

“Odds” is a handsome rescued 1-1/2 year old Border Collie mix.  He got his name because he was rescued off the streets of Tijuana and the “odds” that he would be saved were slim.  Because of his sweet temperament, a rescue group in Tijuana saved his life.  He is very sweet, inquisitive and ready for fun.  His favorite time is spent cuddling. He is calm, playful and loving.  He gets along well with other dogs, cats and children.  He is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He wants to learn and rides in the car great. He would be great with a family or an individual who is active. He has been neutered, wormed and is up-to-date with his Distemper/Parvo shots. Medical records will be provided.   “Odds” weighs about 52 lbs. A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for him and his new adopter. Sassy Pit Bull Miracle foundation 2-2017“Sassy” – Spent her whole life on a heavy chain
My name is Sassy. I am a little over five years old and new to the rescue. I came to my foster home where there are seven other rescue dogs. My foster mom says I am a great dog. I love to run around the yard, snuggle and get belly rubs. I have come such a long way from the life I knew before I was rescued.
My whole life I lived outdoors, with a heavy chain that kept me from being able to go any further that my dog house. I wasn’t allowed to go indoors no matter what the weather. This is all I knew since I was 8 months old. I was used for breeding until I was 4 then I was adopted by a neighbor who grew to love me. But my life was still outside, my dog house and chain came with me. When she couldn’t care for me she posted me on Craigslist ” Free, can still have puppies”. That’s when The Miracle Foundation found me.

I’ve been with my foster mom for about 5 months. My mom says I am very smart and eager to learn new things. I have learned to walk on my leash, and I know sit, down and stay. I also am very polite and ask to go out. My mom has also taught me that a kennel is a safe warm place to sleep at night or stay when she is not home. When my family is home my preference is to be with my humans, go for walks, or just cuddle. I get belly rubs which I enjoy very much.

I have met lots of other animals here, we have three cats and our neighbors have horses which I am getting used to. As for my health, I have been to the vet, and was recently spayed and was brought up to date on all my vaccines. The vet checked me over, I was treated for fleas and a few hot spots. I am very healthy now.

I am looking to find a family I call my very own. A family that will let me love them and allow me to be the dog my foster mom says I am. She says I have a silly personality and am very curious. I love the outdoors but I am very happy to come inside and be with my family, especially when it’s cold. My mom has me on a very healthy diet which has made me lean and strong.
If you would like to meet Sassy please email The Miracle Foundation at miraclefoundationsd@gmail.com.

It’s The Pits is a 501c3 canine rescue that coordinates the fostering and adoption of dogs that haven’t yet found their permanent home. We specialize in American Staffordshire Terriers (“Am Staffs”), Staffordshire Bull Terriers (“Staffy’s”), and American Pit Bull Terriers, but will do our best to help all breeds, often by referral to other local rescues that specialize in that type of dog. We work alongside our fosters to give the dogs a temporary and loving home before they are placed into permanent homes. We rescue dogs from various shelters, evaluate them, ensure they are healthy, and then match them with the appropriate family. We take pride in matching the best dog for the individual family that contacts us. We do this by matching the activity level of the dog to the family’s needs, as well as making sure that the other pets in the home work well with the new addition to the pack. All of this is important in finding the forever home for our rescued pets.

This Week’s Featured Dogs:

KING

King is the sole survivor of a litter of 12—his mom and 11 siblings died, shortly after childbirth on the streets of Tijuana. At a day old King was found barely alive. He was taken to a chihuahua who was nursing puppies but she rejected him. He was taken to another nursing chihuahua—Emily who is available on our site—and she took him as her own and he joined her four pups. King is now 30 pounds but up until the time they went to separate foster homes, no one seemed to notice the size difference. His ‘siblings’ Gannon, Bennet, Florence and Madeline played nonstop with him and when it was naptime or night time, they all curled up on top of him. When he needed it, Emily scolded him and he cowed just like Emily’s real puppies. King is a little slow to warm up and trust but all things considered, that is understandable. Once he trusts though, he has a very sweet nature; he thinks he is a lap dog and wants to sleep in the bed with you. He is just learning to walk on a leash but he seems to like it and I think he could even turn out to be a great jogging buddy for the right person. King had a rocky start in like and now we want to make sure he gets the best home out there. King is available through Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego. You can fill out an application at www.rescueachi.com to get pre-approved and then let us know how and where to contact you to set up a meet and greet. *More info

LADY

Lady, born in 2008 and weighing in at 11 lbs, lost her home when her owner passed. She is a well taken care of girl, seeing the vet every 6 months, as you can see by her pic her teeth are in great shape, her shots are all up to date and she does really well in the house and on a leash. Lady will make a great addition for someone that wants a sturdy girl to have and hold. For more info on Lady, please send in your completed application to adopt http://chihuahuarescueofsandiego.com/adoption-application/ and we will follow up with you. *More info

Hey, I’m Buddy! I originally came to ITP a couple years ago and was adopted pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I have recently rejoined the rescue since I really wasn’t doing well living in the chaos of downtown San Diego. I’m back on the search for my true forever home and hope to find it soon! I’m a social guy, love humans, great with mellow doggies and have been said to be a total lovebug 🙂 If you’re searching for a social, lovable guy to join your family, please fill out an adoption application!

Ramona

Hi! I’m Ramona 🙂 My sister Reina and I are both in search of our very special forever homes! I’m a happy & sweet puppy but like any puppy, I will need love, structure and training. I would love to have a doggie brother to grow up with but would be OK as the only dog too. I haven’t had all of my shots yet so I must be in a house with a private backyard. I won’t be available to go to my forever home until April 16th but you can complete an application today 🙂

Please consider sponsoring Ramona with either a one-time or monthly tax-deductible donation. Your donation will help It’s The Pits with day-to-day care, including food, vaccinations, flea treatment, treats and toys. Click on the Sponsor This Pet link above to make your donation today. Thank you!

Cuddling and playtime are probably my two most favorite things! I would really like a forever family who will take me on lots of walks and play with me when they get home from work 🙂

This Week’s Featured Dogs:

Jinxie

Little Jinxie is an 8 lb Maltese who came to us salvaged from a puppy mill. During her 8 years of life, she has only known a wire cage, litter after litter of puppies with the poorest care and conditions imaginable. Those days are over as she is safe now and looking to begin her new life. Every day brings something she knows nothing about. Her foster family is teaching her to walk on a leash, climb up and down stairs, eat quality food out of a bowl or plate rather than something thrown on the ground, explore the neighborhood park with grass to roll in, sleep in a soft bed, and be held with lots of hugs and the assurance that she is safe and loved. She gets along great with the other pups in the house and would do best in a home with another dog to teach her how to be a dog. She is a little timid but not overly shy and loves to cuddle next to her foster daddy. Jinxie was just spayed and received a full dental. She has all her shots and is microchipped. Jinxie is looking for that tender person willing to be patient and gentle as she learns about life. If this is you, this girl is ready to reward you with lots of snuggles. Please fill out an application found at www.RescueAChi.com and we will give you a call to schedule a meeting with this precious girl.

Briggly

My name is Briggly. I am a very sweet Shepherd who is between 4 and 5 years old. I am in excellent health and weigh about 50 lbs. I will make a very loyal excellent guard dog for my new forever family. If anyone I don’t know tries to bother my family, I will keep them at bay with my very loud bark. I am very child friendly and have been around small children all my life. I will bond quickly with my new family so I can love and protect them with all I have in me. I am a very smart young lady and learn new commands with ease. In fact, I already know several commands like sit, lay down and stay. I love to go on long walks with my family so I can get to know my neighborhood and surroundings. My previous family is in the Navy and are being redeployed. Unfortunately they will not be able to take me with them. I will miss them very much, but things happen. I know I must move on and look for a new forever family that I can love and take care of. Oh, by the way, did you know I am totally blind. Yep have been since I was a puppy and I have never let that little thing slow me down. I have developed my senses to make up for the difference. I get around in my environment just fine. You might say, being blind has helped me perform my duties at a much higher level. It has made me a more calm and focused lady. Anyone out there willing to take a chance on me will be more then pleased with all I can do for my new forever family. Thanks and God Bless. If you have room in your heart and your home for this sweet girl, please complete an application found at www.RescueAChi.com and we will give you a call.

Odds

An application for adoption will be requested. “Odds” rehoming fee is $100.

If interested, please call or text Pam Lawless (Foster Mom) at: (619) 964-1181 or e-mail at Pam.Lawless@GCCCD.edu.

“Bernie”

bernie copyBernie is 3 years old would love to be your one and only, but is good with most other dogs.  He is very curious by nature, but responds well to commands and is smart and loving.  He is housebroken.  He has been neutered, wormed and is up-to-date with his Distemper/Parvo shots. Medical records will be provided. He is the ultimate burglar alarm system. He will protect you and your home by letting you know if someone’s there who shouldn’t be.  He loves to go for walks.  He is a bit anxious when first meeting people, especially men, and needs time to warm up to them.   Once you give him the time to warm up to the situation (mostly ignoring him), he will connect.  He responds well to positive reinforcement and patience when training him.

He enjoys his treats and waits patiently for you to get home. He runs to greet you with a wagging tail and welcoming jump.  He does enjoy the company of dogs and gets along with children.

A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for him and his new adopter. An application for adoption will be requested. “Bernie’s” rehoming fee is $100.

Please contact ‘D’ at (619) 462-2270 or 22fivegal@gmail.com for more information on adopting Bernie.”

We are a rescue consisting of an all volunteer organization where all of our dogs are in private homes everyday. We do not have a shelter and our dogs are not kept in cages. Our dogs are from county animals shelters or from previous owners that are no longer able to care for their dog. All of our dogs are started on housebreaking, however, we do not guarantee that they will be housebroken. We offer education on how to housebreak a dog as well as other information on different situations. Every dog is spayed or neutered, current on shots, dewormed, frontline for fleas and ticks. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!!!

Our Adoption Process… An application is required prior to visiting a dog. This enables us to pick the dog we feel is best for your situation. http://www.rescueachihuahua.com/PDF/application.pdf

He would be great with a family or an individual who is active. He has been neutered, wormed and is up-to-date with his Distemper/Parvo shots. Medical records will be provided.   “Odds” weighs about 52 lbs. A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for him and his new adopter. An application for adoption will be requested. “Odds” rehoming fee is $100.

If interested, please call or text Pam Lawless (Foster Mom) at: (619) 964-1181 or e-mail at Pam.Lawless@GCCCD.edu.

BErnie (619) 462-2270“Bernie” is cute as a bug! He is a terrier mix. He is about 3 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and waiting for his forever home.

He loves to be right next to you and snuggle up on the coach. He is always in protection mode for you and your surroundings. His tale wags like crazy when he is happy. He is good on a leash and loves to go for walks. His favorite thing is to spend time with you. He is loving, affectionate and a wonderful little buddy.

Bernie gets along with other friendly dogs, but is a little reserved at first. He is just looking for his next play buddy. He is about 20 lbs.

He is very well behaved, quiet, walks well on a leash, comes when you call him and knows sit, stay and come. Bernie loves to run around the yard and has a lot of energy and needs someone who can keep up with him. He is not a digger. He gets along with my 14 year old dog quite well, just wants to play with her all the time. I have noticed he is a bit anxious when introduced to a “busy” social situation. The more he is exposed then the more he will adjust. He does bark when his environment is threatened, like when someone knocks at the door or someone passing in front of house. Otherwise, he is very content to “hang out”.

Bernie is crate-trained and house broken.

What to Know about Terriers: commonly friendly, some breeds are wary of strangers. A busy terrier is a happy terrier. Terriers need a variety of outlets to release their abundant energy, including lots of exercise. They can make ideal workout partners for activities like hiking, jogging and long walks. Terriers respond well to reward-based training, in particular clicker training, because they are problem solvers and highly motivated by incentives, like play and treats. Impulse-control exercises like “waiting at the door” are especially important for teaching terriers delayed gratification.

A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for him and his new adopter. An application for adoption will be requested.  Medical records will be provided.  “Bernie’s” rehoming fee is $100.  Please contact ‘D’ at (619) 462-2270 or 22fivegal@gmail.com for more information on adopting Bernie.”

Cruiser

Cruiser

“Cruiser” is a very pretty rescued 1-1/2 year old Shepherd/Heeler mix.  She is very sweet, inquisitive and ready for fun.  Her favorite time is spent following you around and trying to do everything that you are doing.  She is part heeler, and definitely lives up to that breed’s character.  She loves to herd, and is playful and loving.  She is a busy girl and needs a family she can interact with or an individual who will be active and take her places.  She gets along well with other dogs, cats and children.  She is house trained and knows how to use a doggie door. She wants to learn and rides in the car great. She has been spayed, wormed and is up-to-date with her Distemper/Parvo shots.  Medical records will be provided.  “Cruiser” weighs about 55 lbs. A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the right home for her and her new adopter. An application for adoption will be requested. “Cruiser’s” rehoming fee is $100.

More about Sassy:
Reaction to new people: Generally, loves to see people.
House trained: Yes.
Spayed
Birth date: 6/10/2011 (not exact)
Activity level: Medium.
Moderate energy level.
Exercise needed: Daily walk of at least 20 minutes; time to run around in an enclosed yard.
Yard required
Has Basic Training
Likes to vocalize: Yes, but she has learned how to be quiet when asked to do so.
Shedding: Minimal.
Grooming: Regular bathing; professional grooming not needed.
Indoor/outdoor: Both.
Like cats: No.
Gets along with other dogs: Most of the time, but not always.
Kids: Unknown
If you would like to meet Sassy please email The Miracle Foundation at miraclefoundationsd@gmail.com.

5-14-15 Gaia_ElizABETH aLLEN“Gaia”

Gaia is a beautiful 1.5yr old female, spayed pittie who has had a terrible start in life and was rescued from San Bernadino City Shelter about 3 months ago right after giving birth to pups that were never found. She came to me a complete mess, very sick and in deep grief at losing her babies. She has been nursed back to health and is now a vibrant, energetic pup.  She is great around cats and to date, dogs are the challenge, so a home with no other dogs, except maybe small, playful ones is the best place for her.

I have two other big dogs that would LOVE to play with her, but she has experienced too much trauma for that to happen – today. We have an animal behaviorist on the team and she is making progress, so we are hopeful.  She would thrive in a home with a pack leader who is willing to be consistent, keep her safe, correct her and give her boundaries. She is pure love.

This is our CURRENT LIST OF ADOPTABLE DOGS: http://chihuahuarescueofsandiego.com/our-dogs/

This Week’s Featured Dogs:

Adora, who is adorable and looks like a Labador pup, came in with her Mom and litter mates at just 4 weeks old. Born 11/9/2016, she is now ready for a home of her own. She is very good with piddle pads, going outside when you take her, and playing with the other dogs. She is very smart and with the right owner and time she will be an excellent pet for her lifetime. We suspect she will be about 15-20 pounds at adult like her Mom. For more info on Adora please send in your application to adopt found on our web page http://chihuahuarescueofsandiego.com/adoption-application/ as a first step to any of our adoptions and we will get back to you. Please remember, puppies need someone around to properly train them…. puppies left in cages for more than 2-3 hours is very hard on them and they will not respond as well as puppies that are with someone often.
When our rescue gets a call from a shelter saying they have a small long hair 10 year old Chihuahua that will be euthanized due to a growth on his chest, we jump into action and go get the dog. What we saw was pretty unbelievable, as Bentley had an orange sized lipoma hanging to the ground from his chest. His teeth were plaque filled and many had to be removed and his coat was a matted mess. After having the lipoma removed, then a neuter and dental and a trip to our groomer, we now have a great little guy, nearly 5 pounds who loves walks and being your friend. Of course his medical costs were high, but saving his precious life was worth it. If you would like more info on Bentley please email Dog@RescueAChi.com for more info.

All of this is important in finding the forever home for our rescued pets.

long-rectangle-banner-bar-red

Vivian & Amos_HEART“Vivian” & “Amos”

My husband and I rescued two dogs, three years ago- Vivian and Amos. They had had a rough go of it and we put a lot of love and time into training and rehabilitating them. Most recently, we had a baby that left me impaired (going to therapy) due to pelvic damage. The dogs are acting up with the new baby (4 months) and my husband is leaving for deployment and work ups in March. I’m physically not able to take care of them all on my own. I will actually be moving to Michigan so that I can be near family should we have any issues. We are hoping that someone would like to take the dogs in as part of their family, or even to foster them while my husband is deployed and I am away getting help. We are happy and able to cover costs to a good home.

vivian & Amos_2Here is some more info about them: Vivian and Amos are a bonded pair of Black Mouth Curs. Thought to be mother and pup, aged around 8 and 6, 60 and 50 pounds. They love to cuddle- with each other and people that they are familiar with. They enjoy daily walks and time to play outside, though they prefer the company of their owners to being alone out of doors. Calm baths and brushes are a favorite, as are performing “tricks” to please. Vivian and Amos are loyal and protective rescues, therefore, weary of strangers. A formal introduction is recommended when bringing someone new into the home. Though happy to be loved on by known children, small children are not recommended as Vivian can get excited when playing and “pounce” or bat. They are up to date on all shots and vaccinations, micro chipped with paperwork. They prefer to sleep together in their crate or on the floor at the foot of the bed. Crate, toys, dishes, brushes, electric fence, and all else are theirs to keep. We love the dogs and are looking for owners excited to take them in as part of their family.

Super Sweet Foster Kitty “Dusty Rose”
I am fostering a beautiful tuxedo cat in need of a home. I originally found Dusty Rose in my backyard, and ended up fostering her after her microchip contacts did not return calls. She is estimated to be around 4-5 years old and in good health. She needs to be the only animal as she seems insecure around other animals.Contact me if interested in pictures of her or to check her out.

Roc3Roc”

“‘Roc’ is a beautiful 5-year old red male American Staffordshire Terrier mix who has a huge loving soul and enjoys nothing more than spending time with you, getting lots of pets. All he wants is to be loved and be around people, especially children.   He walks well on leash and loves to go for walks and experience things that he’s never had a chance to do in his previous life. Roc is neutered and up to date with his Distemper/Parvo and Rabies shots. He weighs about 80 lbs. Medical records will be provided. A home visit will be conducted to help ensure the best fit for ‘Roc’ and his new family. Roc’s re-homing fee is $75.

She is pure love.

chihuahua-rescue-of-san-diegoAbout Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego

Shelter Pet Partners is one of the largest cat rescue groups in San Diego. We are raising funds for a new cattery which will be placed inside Natural Instincts Pet store. This cattery will allow multiple cats to be housed and viewed by the public, ultimately allowing more cats to be placed in their forever homes.

She is pure love.

chihuahua-rescue-of-san-diegoAbout Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego

StitchStitch

Hey there, I’m Stitch and I’m available for adoption!! I am almost a year old and am quite the outgoing fella! I love meeting new people and get really excited so I’m working on controlling my excitement but am doing a great job learning simple commands like sit and to wait for my food before eating. Cuddling and playtime are probably my two most favorite things! I would really like a forever family who will take me on lots of walks and play with me when they get home from work 🙂

PebblesPebbles

Hi, I’m Pebbles, and I’m available for adoption!! I came into the shelter with my brother & sister (Bambam & Dina), missing most of our hair and needing some TLC. Thankfully the nice people at It’s the Pits saved us! Now I’m living in a foster home with multiple dogs of different breeds, several chickens and even something they call a bearded dragon. Everyone is awesome and I just love all of them. Foster mom calls me wiggle butt because I wiggle all over when I see my friends. My foster mom says I’m hands-down the sweetest, best temperament dog she’s ever met and the best cuddle-bug. I am completely crate-trained and housebroken, and always do my business before bed time. So far I’ve learned “sit” and have got it down perfect and am excellent on my walks. If you’re looking for a happy pup who loves everything and everyone, I’m totally your girl!

ChrissyChrissy

Hi, I’m little Chrissy, and I’m available for adoption! I had a bit of a rough start in life, but I’ve never stopped wagging my tail. When I was first rescued by ITP, I barely had any hair and my skin was really bad. Thankfully they had a wonderful foster step-up to take care of me and with all the love & care I’ve been receiving, I am now ready for my very own forever family. I can be shy sometimes but I love other doggies and kiddos. I even think cats are OK but they’re a little scary at first. If you’re searching for an outgoing, happy & playful pup to join your family, I could be the girl for you!

Hi, I’m Dina, and I’m available for adoption! I came into the shelter with my brother & sister (Bambam & Pebbles), missing some of my hair, scabs on my face and needing some TLC. Thankfully the nice people at It’s the Pits saved us! I was the worst of the 3 but that hasn’t slowed me down on bit. I’m still a happy girl who just wants to love. I absolutely love my doggies foster-siblings! Foster mom says that I’m the perfect mix of playful but mellow, and that I’m one of the easiest foster pups she’s had. I’m proud to say that I’m completely housetrained, crate-trained and only chew on my toys! If you’re interested in a sweet little girl to join your family, here I am!

Hi world, I’m Spice of Ebony’s Fall Litter! The nice people at It’s the Pits saved our sweet mommy, Ebony, when she was just days away from giving birth to us. If you’re interested in being my forever family, you can submit an adoption application now.

TEMPORARY FOSTER or NEW HOME NEEDED for our “Dana”

We originally were looking for just a temporary home but we have had no luck 🙁 We are willing to re-home her if that is what we need to do.. We recently had to move and unfortunately the space is so small and there’s no yard, we couldn’t keep our precious husky “Dana”…. But this is only temporary until our lease is up in October, which at that time we will be buying a house with a yard to accommodate her. She is currently being watched by a family friend but they will no longer be able to watch her, so we are looking for someone who can foster her during this time.  She is spayed and chipped.

Please contact Victor at 619-569-6420 or EMAIL ME HERE if you are able to help!

Visit our website at http://itsthepits.rescuegroups.org

chihuahua-rescue-of-san-diegoAbout Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego

This enables us to pick the dog we feel is best for your situation. http://www.rescueachihuahua.com/PDF/application.pdf

rescue X LogoAbout Rescue X: Our rescue is almost 100% foster based. This means that our animals reside in the private homes of the people who volunteer for us. Because of this we do not have one general location to see all of our animals.

Fostering helps us to understand what each animal is going to be like once they get to their forever home. From their likes & dislikes to behaviors to medical needs, because we are foster based we have a good idea of the personality and needs of the animal you are interested in adopting. All animals come spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, wormed, up to date on vaccines, flea treated & with a free vet exam at Judy Veterinary Clinic.  My website is www.RescueX.org & the Facebook is facebook.com/rescuex.org

Feral Cat Assistance $0 – $50. Through our positive relations with other rescues we can help guide you with any feral cat needs or problems.

Relinquishment/Re-home – Donation Requested not Required

If you need to give up or rehome your pet due to circumstances we are happy to assist you. We can also refer you to services and training that may help you keep your animal.
Adoptions $85 – $175We adopt out cats, dogs & small animals of all ages, starting at 8 weeks old. All animals come vaccinated, wormed, flea treated, microchipped, fixed and kennel trained.
For additional information please contact Dana Storms at (619) 654-4880 or email Dana@rescuex.org

KITTENS!!!

We have so many kittens that are ready to go…here’s just a few…All of them are litter trained, active and very healthy.  Adoption is easy and includes spay/neuter, microchip, wormed, flea treated, current vaccines and a certificate for a free vet exam – *Discounts for double adoptions* – We deliver the kitty to you!

Barn & Feral Cats

(No pictures)  We currently have many barn or feral cats & kittens available. They come fixed, current on vaccines, wormed, flea treated, ear-tipped or microchipped (dependant on if they’re truly feral or a barn cat). Feral cats will happily trade their organic pest control services for a safe place to call home. Barn cats, sometimes referred to as “friendly ferals”, are able to be handled, but for a variety of reasons must live mostly outdoors. We ask for a minimum donation of $40 per feral to cover our costs & to adopt in pairs – we can work out payment plans and discounts for people willing to adopt more than two, especially when keeping siblings together!   *The key to feral success is keeping the cats caged at their new home for at least 30-45 days. During this time wet & dry food, clean water and a litterbox must be provided. We have cages & boxes we can loan for this process. After this imprinting process, we ask feral colony keepers to provide access to clean water, supplemental kibble & any needed health care for the lifetime of the cats.*

PhotoGrid_1466801817012“Ariana”

Say hello to Ariana!! This super friendly pup is still looking for her forever family. She is a spayed Yorkie & Dachshund mix and approximately 9 months old. ‘Ari’ is crate trained, will use pee-pads or outdoors, walks well on a leash, knows the commands “sit, down & kennel”. She is friendly with other dogs and cats and especially loves kids and cuddling!

“Bella”

Meet the beautiful Bella. Bella’s owner passed away and sadly she found herself with nowhere to go. She was an indoor/outdoor cat but is adjusting well to life as indoor only. She tolerates other animals, but isn’t really interested in making new friends unless it’s with people. This older lady would love to lounge around and be like a living sculpture in your home. Bella is 14 yrs old, but the vet says she presents as a 10 year old, so this healthy lady has plenty of life left in her! Please consider welcoming this sweet cat into your home.

Panda_for the foundtaion“Panda”

Panda is a 2 year old American Bully (not to be confused with American Bulldog, this breed is similar to a Staffordshire Bull Terrier). He would prefer a life where he gets to spend a lot of time with his people. Under his rugged good looks he is all love and is NOT a good guard dog since he is eager to please and has never met a stranger. He loves other dogs & cats, but is not a big fan of tortoises. Because Panda has no idea he is a big guy he would do best in a home with kids over 8 or kids familiar with large dogs. He is house trained & can use a doggy door.

Eve_Rescue X

“Eve”

This adorable young Medium Poodle mix is under 1 year old & still very much a puppy! She’s very shy, but once she knows you she is a total cuddle bug & wants to be by your side. She is good with other dogs, cats & kids. Eve is crate trained & will use potty pads.

Buffy_Rescue X“Buffy”

This pretty little gal is a 4 year old spayed Maltese. She is standoff-ish at first but once she warms up she is a very loyal companion. She is house trained, uses pee pads & does okay in a crate. Buffy struggles with separation anxiety and would do best in a quiet home that has a lot of time to spend with her. She has been fully obedience trained and her adoption includes some lessons with her trainers.

“Livvy”

Miss Livvy is a very sweet spayed orange tabby with adorable white markings that is under a year old! She is a playful talker and loves to sunbathe. She does well with other cats & loves dogs.

Munch_rescue X“Munch”

The very adorable Munch has been through the ringer. This tough little guy appears to be part Munchkin & had a rough start in life. He is still a kitten, under 1 year old. His tail is permanently broken in two spots, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. Munch is very shy & needs a patient home willing to build trust with him. He is a cat’s cat and LOVES hanging out & playing with other cats, so if you’re looking for a friend for a current cat, he may be the guy for you! He is okay with dogs also. He actually enjoys getting his nails clipped & being carried like a baby.

chihuahua-rescue-of-san-diegoAbout Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego

I am already spayed and up to date with shots. Jacklin, born in 2011 and weighing just 8 pounds, was one of over 60 dogs that were surviving on very little due to a hoarding situation. She is now spayed, micro-chipped, has her shots up to date and is learning that food will always be there for her, that she doesn’t have to live in a cage and that someone will love her just for being who she is.

If you would like more info on this sweet girl please send in your application to adopt found on our web page at http://chihuahuarescueofsandiego.com/adoption-application/
